Activity Challenge questions

The JUMP into FALL Activity Challenge is a way for Guelph and surrounding area residents to improve their mental and physical health, especially during these difficult times. This friendly competition was created to encourage community members of all ages, local businesses, organizations, and groups to be more active and lead a healthier lifestyle.

You can start to submit activity minutes on Friday, September 15 after the Kick-off Event.

Yes! You can continue to enter Activity Minutes on the weekend (Saturday/Sunday). The Activity Minute button won’t be disabled until Friday, October 6 at 12am (midnight), when the challenge is officially over. So keep entering those minutes of activity!

To keep the competition friendly and fair some small changes have been made:

  1.  Only activity minutes done outside of regular work routines or one’s regular job role should be counted
towards an individual’s daily activity minutes.

5 categories of Activity include:

  • Aerobic Exercise
  • Balance Exercise
  • Flexibility Exercise
  • Mental Health/Mindfulness Exercise
  • Resistance Exercise

Full descriptions of these exercises can be found on your profile page (at the bottom of the page).

A limit has been set on the number of activity minutes an individual can enter each day. Each team member
can enter up to 4 hours (240 minutes) of activity per day.

Teams can earn bonus points by completing the Daily Challenges and Weekly Video Challenges (located on your profile page on the FHT to Move website). These bonus points are added to the team’s score and are not averaged.

The Daily and Weekly Video Challenges consist of a variety of different activities to complete. Examples of some of the activities include physical exercise challenges, creating self-care lists, eating healthy snacks and more! All family members are encouraged to participate.

The Daily and Weekly Video Challenges are not mandatory. Only if your team wants to earn bonus points.
